2024 Audi A4 Allroad: Review, Pricing, Specs – Global Village Space

The 2024 Audi A4 Allroad is a unique offering from Audi, with its lifted suspension and ruggedized styling setting it apart from the brand’s other cars. While it may not be able to tackle the same trails as the Ford Bronco or Jeep Wrangler, the A4 Allroad is more than capable of getting you and your gear to campsites off lightly beaten trails. With a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, the A4 Allroad offers brisk acceleration and a refined on-road driving experience. Its extra ground clearance also gives it a lively cornering attitude.

When it comes to practicality, the A4 Allroad is a station wagon that can haul more than the regular A4 sedan. However, rivals such as the Subaru Outback and Volvo V60 Cross Country offer even more cargo space in their cargo bays. Inside, the A4 Allroad offers a traditional Audi experience with a businesslike cabin packed with tech. While the materials are high-quality, there’s little to get excited about from a luxury standpoint.

For the 2024 model year, the A4 Allroad gains several standard driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. A heated steering wheel and smartphone-enabled remote start function are also now standard. The Navigation package, optional on the Premium Plus trim and included on the Prestige model, now includes traffic-sign recognition and a more advanced predictive adaptive cruise control system.

In terms of pricing, we recommend the mid-range Premium Plus model. It offers additional standard features such as Audi’s Virtual Cockpit gauge display, keyless entry with push-button start, a wireless smartphone charging pad, power-folding exterior side mirrors, and a memory seat for the driver.

Under the hood, there’s only one powertrain option for the A4 Allroad: a 261-hp version of the regular A4’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, now equipped with a 12-volt hybrid system. It comes paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Previous models have impressed with their balanced ride and handling, with plenty of cornering grip. The A4 Allroad feels more like a car than an SUV, which is a feature many buyers will appreciate.

In terms of fuel economy, the EPA estimates the A4 Allroad will earn 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. However, real-world testing is needed to evaluate its actual fuel efficiency.

Inside the cabin, the A4 Allroad offers an attractive and functional interior. While it may not be as visually stunning as the Volvo V90’s cabin, it is nicely appointed and comfortable. Despite its smaller exterior length compared to competitors, the Allroad’s back seat offers nearly as much legroom as the V90. Standard features include leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and three-zone automatic climate control. However, the A4 Allroad falls short in terms of cargo space compared to rivals like the Subaru Outback.

The A4 Allroad comes equipped with Audi’s MMI infotainment system, which includes the optional Virtual Cockpit. This high-resolution configurable display can show a digital version of a traditional cluster layout or a more infotainment-focused display with real-time Google Maps overlays. The 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

In terms of safety, the A4 Allroad offers a wide array of standard driver-assistance technology. However, many of its competitors also offer similar features. Standard safety features include automated emergency braking with forward-collision warning, with available lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, as well as adaptive cruise control.

The A4 Allroad comes with a four-year or 50,000-mile limited warranty and powertrain warranty. However, there is no complimentary scheduled maintenance included.

Overall, the 2024 Audi A4 Allroad is a capable and practical option for those looking for a station wagon with off-road capabilities. While it may not offer the same cargo space as some of its rivals, it makes up for it with its refined driving experience and high-quality interior. With its added standard driver-assistance features for the 2024 model year, the A4 Allroad is a compelling choice in its segment.
