A report on options for introducing a social tariff for internet services on the Island is to be looked at by Tynwald.
Written by the Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority, the report looks at how a social rate could be created for Manx residents and what should be considered.
The Authority says that ‘lessons can be learnt from other jurisdictions’ on how and whether to introduce a social tariff.
Things to be considered include how it would be funded and administered, and which government body should have responsibility for it.
