It might be December but that’s not stopping Samsung from launching shiny new smartphones. The Korean technology giant has just confirmed that its latest and greatest Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) will hit UK stores tomorrow, December 8. This device comes packed with an array of features but without the usual hefty price tag. Right now, those wanting to buy an S23 would need to splash out over £840 to own one but the FE will land in pockets for just £599 – that’s £250 less.
So what do you get for your money? Although this cheaper device isn’t quite as premium as its siblings it still features a stunning 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for silky smooth scrolling. Visuals are improved further thanks to Vision Booster technology which automatically detects bright lighting conditions, keeping the screen vivid just like flagship models.
There’s a snappy Exynos processor under its shell along with a fast-charging battery that refills from flat to 50 percent in around 30 minutes. This power pack is also compatible with wireless charging as well.
On the rear case is a triple-lens camera with a 50MP main sensor along with telephoto and wide-angle lenses. Samsung is promising this snapper will be just as good in the evening as during the day thanks to a Nightography mode which brightens things up without needing a flash.
For those who love gaming and streaming, there’s a vapour chamber inside that helps to control heat and sustain performance – that should mean more fun and less lag.
“We are committed to ensuring everyone has access to the latest Samsung innovations and the very best in mobile and audio experiences” said James Kitto, Vice President and Head of MX Division at Samsung Electronics. “The new FE range takes the Galaxy ecosystem to the next level by ensuring customers can tap into their creativity and productivity with smooth performance, iconic designs, and seamless connectivity.”
If those specs have got you excited then the Galaxy S23 FE series will be available from £599 tomorrow, December 8.
It’s unclear if mobile networks will be stocking the FE on contract but you should be able to buy directly from Samsung’s website.
The S23 FE is available in four styles including Mint, Cream and Graphite.
There is one thing to note before splashing out. Samsung looks set to reveal its next-generation Galaxy S24 as early as next month with these devices expected to get a new look and be much more powerful.
