Megan Krugger, 41, of East Bridgewater, never thought she’d have to eat live termites or sleep in a cave with bats, but that’s exactly what she had to do while being part of a survival challenge in Colombia. Krugger was part of the first all-female tribe during her 21-day survival challenge on Discovery Channel’s “Naked and Afraid.” Krugger attempted to “stay alive in the deadly lands” of San José del Guaviare, Colombia, with her partner Ky Furneaux, according to the Discovery Channel.

Brockton High School has long been the largest public high school in Massachusetts based on the number of students inside the building. Even as enrollment in Brockton schools has plummeted over the last few years, BHS is still hanging on to the name of largest student body in the state. According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Brockton High boasts 3,586 students as of October for the 2023-24 school year.

Kathy Ehlers resigns from Brockton School Committee. How will the Ward 1 seat be filled?
Ward 1 Brockton School Committee member and former committee Vice Chair Kathy Ehlers has resigned from her position on the board effective March 20. Ehlers was half way through her second term on the board, which was due to expire in 2025. Ehlers’ chair was sitting empty at Tuesday night’s committee meeting where Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan, who also serves as School Committee chair, announced Ehlers’ departure. Ehlers told The Enterprise on Monday she’s starting a new job in Vermont, leading her to resign from her role on the board. She could not be reached for further comment on her resignation.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has advised consumers not to purchase or drink water bottled or distributed by Simpson Spring Company, an Easton-based bottled water supplier, due to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) contamination that exceeded drinking water standards, officials announced Wednesday.

Scathing report slams Bridgewater State Hospital for ‘abuse’ and ‘deplorable’ conditions
The Disability Law Center, a non-profit organization responsible for the rights of Massachusetts residents with disabilities, published a scathing report detailing a series of violations at Bridgewater State Hospital — including significant mold contamination, unlawful restraint practices and inadequate access to medical treatment. “With another reporting period closed, DLC repeats our urgent call for the Commonwealth to transfer oversight of the BSH population from the DOC to the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and to construct a new psychiatric hospital,” the DLC concluded in their report.
