HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WTVY) – A Florida man wanted for charges related to his connection with the death of a 23-year-old man in August 2023 was located on Tuesday in Enterprise.
29-year-old Altwain Carlisle was located by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force at around 7 a.m. on May 21, and was subsequently arrested.
Carlisle is facing charges of 1st Degree Murder resulting from the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Fentanyl, Delivery of Cocaine and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell for his actions in Florida, in addition to additional drug trafficking charges in the state of Alabama.

Their assistance in arresting this suspect has been instrumental in ensuring that justice is served.”
The Florida charges stem from an incident on August 1, 2023 when Dhane Hogan of Tampa was found unresponsive by his partner, and later pronounced dead, after an overdose as a result of his use of fentanyl. Days prior in late July 2023, Hogan made a transaction with Carlisle for cocaine, but instead was given the dangerous opioid, according to Hillsborough County deputies.
Carlisle was originally arrested shortly after Hogan’s death following an undercover drug buy by the HCSO and at the time was found in possession of several drugs, including fentanyl, oxycodone, cocaine and marijuana, according to arrest records.
He would bail out of the Hillsborough County jail the next day on a $34,000 bond on trafficking and possession charges, while an investigation continued into Hogan’s death. Eventually, records from Hogan and Carlisle’s phones obtained by investigators confirmed the transactions involving the fentanyl that would take Hogan’s life.
An arrest warrant was issued for Carlisle on March 26, 2024 and after no showing an April hearing for his August 2023 arrest, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office issued a public notice of Carlisle’s wanted status, with a tip to Crime Stoppers leading deputies and U.S. Marshals to Coffee County and his subsequent arrest.
