A great start to the school year – Park Rapids Enterprise

As a superintendent, I strongly believe that, in Rita Pierson’s words, “every child deserves a champion, an adult who never gives up on them.” As we begin another school year, it’s been wonderful to connect with our staff, parents and guardians, who all serve as champions for our students.
Earlier in September, the energy of homecoming inspired all of us. I want to congratulate the football and volleyball teams once again for winning their homecoming games and Morgan Monroe and Hank Kramer for being selected as homecoming queen and king.

I also want to thank the student council for doing a fantastic job organizing homecoming. Spirit Week added to the fun with themes like plaid day, wacky day, and of course green and gold day, bringing out the best in school pride.

In September, members of the community action committee also met for the third time. This dedicated team of parents, educators and community leaders has provided valuable insights as the Nevis School Board considers various options to address our facilities needs. The committee’s commitment to our schools and their thoughtful contributions are deeply appreciated.

Now, the district has reached an exciting juncture. We are finalizing facilities plan concepts and getting ready to share them with the broader community. The Nevis School Board reviewed these initial concepts at the board meeting on Sept. 23.

Your feedback is crucial as we move forward, and we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to weigh in. Stay tuned for more details on an upcoming open house where residents will be able to review the options we’ve developed, provide input and tour our facilities.

In the meantime, our website,

NevisForward.org

, has more information on our facilities planning process. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
