VALDOSTA – Gasoline prices dropped again in Lowndes County during the past week, according to statistics.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Valdosta Sunday was $2.18, down from $2.22 seven days earlier, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
The lowest price for gas in the city Sunday was $2.04 at a retailer on U.S. 84 west of Interstate 75, while the highest reported price was $2.39 at a store on Gordon Street, according to the price tracking website gasbuddy.com.
Continuing a months-long trend, no retailers were listed by gasbuddy as having fuel for less than $2 a gallon Sunday in Lowndes County.
Nationally, the average price of fuel Sunday was $2.34, down a penny from the previous week, while Georgia’s average of $2.19 was three cents lower from a week before, the auto club said.
In Friday market trading, benchmark U.S. crude oil rose a penny to settle at $47.84 a barrel. Brent crude, the international standard, rose 7 cents to $50.84 a barrel.
