Fay Fredricks to Co-Anchor KNXV Evening Newscasts Starting in May

Fay Fredricks has been named co-anchor of the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. news at KNXV in Phoenix, Arizona.

“I first moved to Arizona after college and have called this amazing place home for most of my adult life,” Fredricks said in a statement. “It’s the place where my husband and I chose to raise our three children and where so many of you have welcomed me into your homes for all these years. I am deeply honored and grateful to have this opportunity to keep sharing your stories with our viewers here at ABC 15 Arizona.”

She currently anchors weekdays at 3 and 4 p.m. She started working at KNXV in 2015 after working at 12 News in Phoenix for nearly 15 years. She replaces Katie Raml, who recently announced her retirement from the station.

“Fay exemplifies the very best in journalism,” news director Mitch Jacob. “She is a natural storyteller whose dedication to accuracy and community connection has earned her the trust of viewers across Arizona. Her profound knowledge of our state, combined with her commitment to journalistic excellence, makes her the perfect choice to help lead our evening newscasts.”

Fredricks will start her new assignment as co-anchor with Javier Soto on May 19.
