Carver School for Math, Science and Technology named National Blue Ribbon School

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – The Carver School for Math, Science and Technology has been named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon recipient.

This U.S Department of Education award highlights schools that excel in academic performance or make strides in closing achievement gaps among different groups of students.

Carver School for Math Science and Technology (CMST) was one of 356 schools in the 2024 group of National Blue Ribbon Schools.

Only one percent of schools in the nation have an active Blue Ribbon.

Established in 2019, CMST is a STEAM-focused, Title I school that serves a diverse student body coming from nine different elementary schools.

The school offers a hands-on curriculum that includes projects like embryology where students hatch and raise chicks, and DNA studies through seasonal gardening.
