Cloud Business of Global Tech Company Tencent Cloud Announced Full Entry into Web3


As the Web3 ecosystem has continued to prove its potential and grow in adoption, many tech firms are beginning to be more interested in the industry than ever so as to get their piece of the Web3 adoption. Tencent cloud, a cloud business for global tech companies disclosed its full entry into the Web3 ecosystem

As part of its support for the Web3 industry, Tencent revealed the development roadmap of a full suite of blockchain API services and its brand new Web3 product, Tencent Cloud Metaverse-in-a-Boxofferings which will deliver a robust technological establishment for Web3 builders while enhancing its dedication to being the digital enabler for the Web3 industry. 

“At Tencent Cloud, we see a future with Web3, a new iteration of the internet that ushers in the concept of ‘Immersive Convergence’ where the physical and digital economies meet and integrate, said Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President, of Tencent Cloud International. 

Yeung added, “With more businesses now keen to explore and adapt to an efficient, transparent digital future, we are ready to leverage our many years of technical experience in the fields of games, audio, and video to provide strong technical support for Web3, and work with industry partners to create a more immersive experience and nurture a better Web3 ecosystem.”

Collaboration With Web3 Firms

Tencent Cloud announced at the Tencent Cloud Web3 Build Day held today in Singapore its motive to promote the Web3 ecosystem and empower Web3 builders but not alone. According to the announcement, Tencent will collaborate with potential Web3 businesses including Ankr, Avalanche, Scroll, and Sui. 

Tencent Cloud signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Ankr, a Web3 infrastructure provider, in order to join hands in developing “a full suite of blockchain API services that provides a high-performing globally distributed and decentralized network of Remote Procedure Call (RPC) nodes, enabling builders to power their Web3 projects,” according to the announcement. 

Notably, the new suite of blockchain API services will be established on Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure. Just as the idea behind its development, it will also provide projects including Web3 games and Web3 social applications with necessary connections with most of the prominent blockchains in the industry. 

With its collaboration with Avalanche, a smart contracts platform developed by Ava Labs, a fully synchronized Avalanche full node that will enable efficient and quick node setup for developers will be built on Tencent Cloud.

With Scroll, an open-sourced bytecode-level equivalent zkEVM zk-Rollup to scale Ethereum, Scroll would be able to use Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure to build the initial scaling solution foundation, while validators and sequencers within the Scroll network benefit from Tencent Cloud’s features. 

Sui, a Layer-1 blockchain being initially developed by Mysten Labs, would be able to use its collaboration with Tencent Cloud will be able to provide builders with effective cloud-based game development tools and devoted support to optimize the on-chain gaming experience.
