Enterprise rec center now offering monthly membership

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) – The new recreation and aquatic center in Enterprise is now offering monthly memberships.

The City Council adopted the new membership rate on Tuesday.

The new membership option will be $30 a month.

“We wanted to provide another alternative for those interested in utilizing this new facility, which is the equivalent of one dollar a day,” said Blake Moore, Interim Director of Community Services and Recreation. “This monthly rate allows users to pay on a month-by-month basis rather than a yearly rate. We hope this will encourage more of our citizens to take advantage of the state-of-the-art rec center, gyms, and pool area.”

Previously, the membership rates were only annual options. An individual yearly membership is $150. Membership for active-duty military and senior citizens is $140 per year. All additional family members on the annual plan is an added $100 each.

Non-members will be able to pay to use the facility and take fitness classes. There is a $5 admission fee to the weight room, cardio room and gym. A daily pass to the pool is $5. Fitness class rates are $10 if space is available.

“The different membership rates and options allow our citizens to choose what works best for their family. Those older than 16 may find a monthly or yearly membership rate makes the most sense. Some parents may decide a $5 daily pass is best because some areas like the weight and cardio rooms are only for those 16 and older, Moore said.”

The Council also adopted facility hours. The rec center will be open Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The pool will be open from April to September. Pool hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The $23 million facility is expected to open within six weeks.
