GlassFish update fixes restart hangs, random 403 responses

The Eclipse Foundation has released GlassFish 7.0.21, an update of the enterprise Java application server that focuses on fixing a few tenacious bugs. The release also brings improved connection pool lookup messages and improved error messages on deploying apps larger than the upload size limit in Admin Console.

Downloadable from glassfish.org, GlassFish 7.0.21 was introduced January 3. GlassFish implements the Jakarta EE 10 enterprise Java specification.

The Eclipse GlassFish release notes describe the release as ”all about hunting down a few nasty bugs reported by GlassFish users,” including restarts hanging on fast machines, random 403 responses for authenticated sessions, and Faces UI components failing to initialize on GlassFish embedded. “We’re proud to announce that after a lot of research and a lot of work, we were able to squash them all,” Eclipse said.
