An engineering sample enthusiast claims to have come across a heretofore-unreleased smartphone that, despite having 3 different model numbers (2QC9100, 2QC9200 and 2QCB100), is believed to have just 1 product name: the U23 Pro 5G. If so, it may be released as HTC’s next new Android device soon.
The erstwhile mobile tech pioneer brand from Taiwan may have secured the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor for its display which, while lacking estimated dimensions at the time of writing, is thought to be “AMOLED“. Those mid-range specs are often accompanied by a 108MP main camera to aim for more of a premium appeal, and that is apparently also the case with this putative Desire 22 Pro successor.
It is found alongside 3 other shooters in a considerably less than modern camera hump, which states that it is enhanced with OIS and AI as currently pictured. The “U23 Pro” is said to have a slightly off-trend 4,600mAh battery – then again, it may run Android 13 out of the box, at least, with 256GB of internal storage to go with its 8GB of RAM.
HTC may also have incorporated a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a punch-hole selfie camera into this possibly upcoming device – not to mention a headphone jack as well as a USB type-C connector. Presuming this new leak is accurate, it will be interesting to see how the OEM will price the new offering this time.
I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
