It’s a busy life, and each day is marked by countless flights of stairs, rides on the metro, cabs, etc. One thing that has been a constant in all my daily outings is my earbuds. Listening to music, preparing notes from my favourite podcasts, or simply immersing myself in the lo-fi sounds of piano meshed with oceanic waves or the breezy sounds of rain forests, my pair of earbuds has a lot more work to do. And, perhaps for that reason, I am wary whenever I am acquainted with a new pair of earbuds or audio devices.

I got a chance to try out the latest Oppo Enco Air3 Pro earbuds. As my days are marked by an assortment of activities including writing and editing, I was excited about experiencing the noise cancellation on the Enco Air3 Pro. I have been immensely satisfied with the earbuds, its sound quality, and overall experience. But do all these facets make it a noteworthy contender in an ocean of earbuds? Let’s find out.

Look and feel

For the review, I got the green colour unit. When it comes to gadgets I am a huge fan of a black and matte finish, however, the pastel lime green impressed me. For me, this is the first pair of earbuds that looked and felt like a premium TWS. There were some concerns about getting them dirty during everyday use, but those were negligible. Although the stems are smaller, they didn’t cause any discomfort.

Oppo Enco Air3 Pro’s charging case comes with a gradient design that is both striking and intuitive. The company claims that the stems on the Enco Air3 Pro are shorter and more compact compared to its predecessors. Besides, the earbuds are IP55 rated for dust and water resistance making them a great companion for the outdoors. Also, it offers multi-device connections simultaneously.

Sound quality

This time Oppo has made some significant improvements to offer quality sound. The Enco Air3 Pro is the world’s first TWS to feature diaphragms made of bamboo fibre that can reach a frequency of over 40kHz. Coupled with LDAC and 49dB adaptive ANC, the earbuds offer an immersive audio experience.

To test the ANC capabilities of the device, I wore them and walked around a bustling market, took a metro ride, and even a room full of people to see if I could focus on my writing and reading. The earbuds offered an impressive experience, so much so that I felt like these could be the perfect device for deep focus work.

When it comes to calls, the device offers crystal-clear audio. I tried the earbuds on my iPhone, another Android device, and laptop for Zoom sessions. The call quality and mic input have been great. The 49 dB ANC helps in turning all kinds of audio into ultra-immersive. I feel the noise cancellation on the device will be of great use to those who have to frequently attend calls in noisy settings. Another interesting feature is the AI-based wind noise control design. The company claims the device runs its wind noise algorithm in real time to detect windy conditions and offer an enjoyable audio experience.

Immersive audio

Any TWS that is unable to bring the richness of various genres of music is a big letdown. Thankfully, the Oppo Enco Air3 Pro stood firm across various genres of music. Tracks from Nigerian artists such as Tekno, WizKid, and Omah Lay brought the full spectrum of musical accompaniments, while songs from indie artists such as Swiss Portrait, Strawey, and Col3trane felt experiential. For gamers, the 47ms ultra-low latency gaming mode will definitely elevate their experience.

OPPO’s AliveAudio and Golden Sound 2.0 technologies further enhance the sound experience. While AliveAudio creates a surround sound effect,  Golden Sound 2.0 enriches the details, ensuring no note is lost, no matter how intricate the track is.

Battery life

The Oppo Enco Air3 Pro comes with a battery life of up to 30 hours. I did not feel the need to charge the earbuds frequently and that to me is a huge relief. Besides they also come with a quick charge feature, and this is something that I felt is very useful for heavy users.

Verdict: Best ANC under Rs 5K

At Rs 4,999, the Oppo Enco Air3 Pro is a handsome pair of earbuds that offers a superlative audio experience by combining high-definition sound with effective noise cancellation and long battery life. The unique bamboo fibre diaphragm elevates the sound quality, and this is what makes the Air3 Pro stand out. I highly recommend the Oppo Enco Air3 Pro to anyone seeking a superior and immersive audio experience.
