Monte-Carlo SBM Inaugurates Its New Security Control Center

Monaco, if anything, is synonymous with safety. And behind the scenes teams are working twenty four hours a day to ensure it. They are supported by the latest technology and everything comes together within a tightly managed organization.

This Tuesday, June 11, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group inaugurated its brand-new Security Control Center in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. This state-of-the-art surveillance system meets the protection and security requirements for people and property within the Resort.

The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group continues to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of a high level of security in the Principality of Monaco.

Prevent, intervene, anticipate. These are the key focuses of Monte-Carlo SBM’s new Security Control Center, created over five months and operational since May 5.

Inaugurated this Tuesday morning, June 11, this Control Center is a true nerve centre dedicated to the safety of property and people in the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Resort, operating 24/7.

Early Detection and Prevention

The Monte-Carlo SBM Security Control Center prevents security issues by detecting suspicious situations or behaviors, intervenes directly on-site in coordination with operational teams, and anticipates the placement of future surveillance cameras as part of its real estate development.

With more than 1,200 surveillance cameras recording continuously and managing all radio communications, the Security Control Center meets the highest international standards. Potential interventions are immediate, thanks to three teams distributed across the Casino Square area, remote sites including the Sporting Monte-Carlo, the Aigue-Marine premises, and sites in France. No less than 14 operators and four room supervisors, overseen by a director and deputy, are mobilized daily. All are from the SBM Security teams and have been trained by the Security Directorate’s leaders, which currently comprises 200 people.

The Group’s employees have a single phone number to contact the Security Control Center instantly in case of a security incident. This Control Center works hand in hand with the Gaming Control teams and the Monaco Public Security through a direct link. Tested for the first time on New Year’s Eve and then activated during the Monaco Grand Prix, this Security Control Center centralizes all the Group’s operational security activities, such as managing suspicious or malicious behaviour, malicious action, or issues related to lost or stolen property within the Resort.

“Security in our activities, such as gaming and luxury in general, has become increasingly important over time. Along with the stability of our political system, the quality of healthcare, and the educational system, it is one of the pillars of Monaco’s attractiveness,” declared Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, during the inauguration.
