OU looking to offer Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence

NORMAN, Okla. (KSWO) – The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education met May 31, and amongst their discussion was a proposed new Oklahoma University program in Artificial Intelligence.

OU’s proposed Artificial Intelligence bachelor program would seek to empower students in the program with a comprehensive understanding of AI’s principles, tools and applications. The program would also seek to equip students with skills to help develop AI software aimed at finding solutions for complicated real-world problems.

In terms of employment opportunities, over 600 open jobs are available in the Computer and Information Technology field within Northeastern Oklahoma, according to the state regent’s agenda.

There are 375 open job openings within that field in Tulsa alone, according to the same agenda. The starting salary for these jobs is around $88,000.
