The Carvey-as-Charles parody campaign came together quickly, in keeping with Maximum Effort’s track record, with the video shooting this week in Los Angeles and posting to YouTube about a day later. The work comes from production house SixTwentySix and Maximum Effort’s MNTN creative-as-a-subscription service, where clients like PetSmart and others bundle creative and media spend.
Carvey created his Charles impression during his SNL days, where the caricature was last seen in the early ‘90s in a bawdy sketch with a reference to Tampongate. Co-stars included Mike Myers as Queen Elizabeth and Julia Sweeney as Camilla Parker-Bowles.
