If you think Redmi is done with the Redmi Note 12 series, then think again as the Xiaomi subsidiary is set to release yet another variant of the device soon. Touted to be the Note 12R, the smartphone is also the first to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.
While it hasn’t been confirmed, the Note 12R was recently spotted on China’s Telecom website, hence its debut is imminent. As reported by IT Home, the listing also showed the device’s processor, which has the codename SM4450.
The SoC is allegedly fabbed on a 4nm Samsung node and would be branded as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 by Qualcomm. Besides that, the China carrier listing also revealed some of the Note 12R’s specs.
These include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, a 6.79-inch FHD+ display, a 5000mAh battery, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-C port. Camera-wise, the device is listed with a 50MP main camera assisted with a 2MP shooter at its rear.
The device starts at CNY1100 or ~RM710 for the entry 4/128GB variant and up to CNY1800 or ~1162 for the 8/256GB configuration. The Note 12R will be offered in Midnight Black, Sky Fantasy and Time Blue colour options, with its launch date and availability outside of China unknown.
