Review: Tranya S2 smartwatch – Movies Games and Tech

The Tranya S2 smartwatch is an impressive all-rounder. Though it markets itself as a sports accessory, I can’t see hardcore athletes jumping to buy one of these devices. Instead, I think this is the perfect option for walkers, part-time sports people, and those who wish to have a smart-looking watch/step counter.

This device does track an awful lot of data. As such, you can keep on top of your oxygen levels, heart rate, sleep pattern, the weather, and up to 25 unique sports. On top of this, there is the “Glory Fit” app that enhances your experience further still. Additionally, unlike its peers, this is relatively straightforward to master. Accordingly, with a little trial and error, you’ll be tracking your exercise, understanding your physiological cycle, and much, much more.

What’s in the box of the Tranya S2 smartwatch?

  • The bright and sleek packaging is professional and striking. A monochromatic design keeps things simple while making them pleasant to the eye. Furthermore, it is made from cardboard and can be recycled with ease.
  • The Tranya S2 smartwatch has a wide screen but is lightweight. The watch has a black finish, and the rubberised strap feels solid and comfortable against your skin. Moreover, there are 2 tactile buttons to power the device and select any exercises. To the rear of the watch is a heart rate monitor. The sensors emit a green hue, but this cannot be seen once it is placed on your wrist.
  • A USB-A charger with a unique Tranya connector is provided. The rubberised cable is hard-wearing and built to last.
  • The user guide is essential to get the best out of this accessory. Furthermore, there is a QR code to download the “Glory Fit” app.

Technical aspects.

This all-rounder has a vast range of tools at its disposal. Whether you want it to count your steps, or you wish to track your running whilst controlling your music, it has it all. On top of this, you can monitor the weather, keep an eye on your O2 levels, and you can see how well you are sleeping. Alongside this, it is water-resistant up to 30 metres and it has a 7-10 day battery life. Accordingly, this is an excellent device if you want a jack of all trades.

The accurate heart rate monitor and O2 sensor compare closely to the one on my Garmin Fenix Pro 6. Furthermore, the GPS for distance and time are surprisingly close as well. Subsequently, I know that the Tranya S2 smartwatch delivers an accurate reading for exercising and health monitoring. Alongside this, the display is vibrant, busy, and full of details. Additionally, the touch screen allows you to swipe between settings with ease. As such, you can view your daily and weekly stats within seconds.

Notifications.

Like its peers, this watch allows you to stay connected to your mobile phone. I hate this option, but I know that many people find it useful. Accordingly, I kept it switched on for this review. If you wish, you can funnel every social media notification as well as phone calls and messaging through your watch. Therefore, you can choose to reject a call without getting your phone out of your pocket. Alternatively, you can look through the endless stream of social notifications if you so wish.

Though this isn’t something I find useful, I liked how easy it was to navigate each notification. Moreover, there was no lag between my phone ringing and the watch picking up the information. What’s more, managing and removing unwanted messages was an easy task. Subsequently, Tranya has made this a user-friendly device that can be mastered by the greatest of technophobes.

Glory Fit” app.

If you purchase this watch, I suggest you install the “Glory Fit” app. Like Strava, Fitbit and Garmin Connect, this app tracks every activity you have completed. Furthermore, the more personal data you input, the more accurate the results are. Consequently, if you enter your weight and height, the app will determine how fit you are.

Alongside this, it’ll track your level of exercise and highlight the number of steps you have completed. This simple but effective tool helps you to keep on top of your goals. If you have used Garmin Connect or Strava, do not expect this app to be as robust or in-depth. Instead, you get a pleasant overview that’ll appease a lower-end user. Accordingly, it is perfect for people that don’t need every ounce of data to be happy.

Build quality.

The 1.32” wide screen high-resolution display is pleasant to look at. With striking fonts and vivid colours, it looks great on your arm. Moreover, if you are running or cycling, it is easy to see the display without having to stop. Though the display is large, the watch is extremely lightweight. As such, it was easy to forget that you were wearing it at all.

The rubberised wrist strap is the perfect choice for a sports watch. This robust material will take a bit of a beating without breaking or getting damaged. Additionally, it is easy to clean whether it gets sweaty or covered in mud, salt, or any other bits of dirt.

I liked the combination of tactile side buttons and the excellent touch screen. Even when the display is dirty or wet, I experienced no issues or input lag. What’s more, the buttons were responsive and selecting your activities or other features was a cinch.

Is the Tranya S2 smartwatch worth it?

If you are looking for a top-end sports watch, then this isn’t the device for you. However, if you want an all-rounder that does a great job of tracking your exercise and your steps, then look no further. Thankfully, the Tranya S2 smartwatch does a great job of monitoring your heart rate and your O2 levels. Moreover, female users can use the watch and the app to understand their physiological cycle. On top of this, you can customise the watch face with over 100 designs. Accordingly, this is a great watch that is available for around £100. As such, I liked it and I recommend that you buy it here!
