News Release

SYRACUSE — Syracuse Public Library is hosting several activities next week.

Take Better Photos With A Smartphone

Smartphone cameras have come a long way within a decade. Are you making the most of yours? Come to the library’s next fix-it clinic at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in the downstairs meeting room. Emilia Layne will guide attendees in improving their photography and will also share apps that can fix photos after the fact.

Anime Club To Explore Japan’s Landscape

Syracuse Public Library’s anime club continues to explore Japanese culture, and its May meeting will focus on the country’s landscape. Join the club when it meets from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Rosalyn Jones Room, which houses the library’s young adult book collection. Following the presentation on Japan’s landscapes, members will watch anime on Crunchyroll.

For information about the club, contact Amber Weber at [email protected] The group meets regularly from 6-7:30 p.m. the last Thursday of the month.

In The Garden

In the Garden will continue to plot its summer at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the downstairs meeting room. The library has secured old metal signs, which group members will transform into garden signs that raise awareness for native plants and pollinators. The group will also discuss 2023 field trip destinations.

Youthful Yoga

Join the library for Youthful Yoga at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays in the downstairs meeting room. Youthful Yoga focuses on low-impact chair routines. Since this group meets before the library opens, knock on the southernmost Harrison Street door, closest to the staff parking lot, for entry.
