Ticker: ABC News Finalizes Presidential Debate Rules

Top of the Ticker: With only four sleeps to go before Kamala Harris and Donald Trump face off in Philadelphia in their Sept. 10 presidential debate, ABC News has set the ground rules for the blockbuster event. Mics will definitely be muted, no audience will be permitted and there will be two commercial breaks during the 90-minute match. As with the CNN debate on June 27, no props or consultations with campaign staff is allowed and there will be no opening statements. Get plenty of rest this weekend, because Tuesday is gonna be a late night…

Road Warriors: MSNBC’s Symone Sanders Townsend and Melissa Murray are joining forces for the upcoming special, Black Women in America: The Road to 2024. Premiering Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET, the program sends the duo across the country to speak with acclaimed and accomplished women of color, including Kerry Washington, Sherrilyn Ifill and Minyon Moore.

The new MSNBC special Black Women in America premieres Sept. 29

Podcast Power: Audiophiles won’t have to wait too much longer to listen to more episodes of the MSNBC podcast, Velshi Banned Book Club. Season 2 officially kicks off on Sept. 12, although the first two installments are available now for MSNBC Premium subscribers. The sophomore year will go behind the covers of controversial books by such authors as Roxane Gay, Stephen Chbosky and Lois Lowry.

Meanwhile, the Fox Weather forecast sees video podcasts incoming. Starting today, meteorologists Ian Oliver and Steve Bender are anchoring Storming the Field, a football-themed series that clues pigskin fans into the weather conditions they can expect to see any given Sunday. Storming the Field will air weekly during the NFL season and is available on multiple platforms, including Fox Weather’s YouTube page and FoxNewsPodcasts.com

Koppel Time: Veteran journalist Ted Koppel is anchoring this weekend’s special CBS News Sunday Morning installment devoted to chronicling the current political moment. Titled This Time is Different, the episode explores what’s on the minds of voters via the news and culture they’re consuming. Koppel made the pilgrimage to the Wisconsin State Fair to speak with attendees one-on-one… and sample all the fried food fare, of course.
