US Startup ShapesXR Raises $8.6M in Seed Funding for Virtual Reality Technology

US startup ShapesXR has successfully raised $8.6 million in seed funding from various investors, including Supernode Global, Triptyq VC, Boost VC, Hartmann Capital, and Geek Ventures. The company’s main focus is on developing technology that assists developers in creating virtual-reality experiences.

The significance of ShapesXR lies in its application to the music industry. For instance, metaverse agency Trigger XR recently used ShapesXR’s platform for an artist project called “Reality Reimagined” by Duran Duran, which was launched in 2022.

ShapesXR is planning to use the funding to expand its technology further to support new platforms, such as Apple’s Vision Pro headset. The company aims to emphasize the ease of use of its technology, with CEO Inga Petryaevskaya likening its learning curve to PowerPoint. This suggests that the music industry can expect more artists and musicians to explore its potential.

In a presentation, ShapesXR received an endorsement from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, further highlighting their innovation and potential.

With its recent funding, ShapesXR is well-positioned to continue developing and expanding its technology, bringing virtual-reality experiences closer to the mainstream.
