WSJ hires Bozorgmir as executive producer of enterprise

Nicole Bozorgmir has been hired by The Wall Street Journal as executive producer for enterprise, reporting to Ben Weltman.

Previously, Bozorgmir was senior editorial producer at Vice Media.

Bozorgmir is a five-time Emmy award-winning producer, director, and journalist whose work has aired on HBO, Vice TV, Showtime, and PBS. She has reported stories around the U.S. and internationally, including Iraq, Turkey, China, Cuba, Lebanon, Ukraine, Mexico, South Africa and Bangladesh.

She is also the producer behind several groundbreaking investigations, including into the persecution of China’s Muslim Uyghurs which won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Research and Investigative Report, and into the death of Breonna Taylor, which was recognized with an Emmy, George Polk, and Edward R. Murrow Awards. Her work on trans and nonbinary youth has been honored with a two Front Page Awards, and other work has received Emmys, and a Gracie.

Prior to joining Vice, Bozorgmir worked at Ark Media on several long-form documentaries for PBS, including the Peabody-winning series “The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross.”

She holds a MSc from the London School of Economics in International Relations.
